Coventry Blaze Transfer Round-up

With their loss to the eventual playoff champions Cardiff in the first round of the playoffs and as they head into the third year of coach Danny Stewart’s plan for the team, fans were apprehensive to see who might be staying and who would be gone. Here we give you a round up of the comings and goings in Blaze land.

Brett Robinson: Coventry Blaze > UNKNOWN

The team didn’t keep fans waiting long. May 1st the Blaze announced that the player/coach wouldn’t be returning.

Brython Preece: Coventry Blaze > UNKNOWN

No information has yet been announced as to where the welsh netminder is headed for next season. However, it’s rumoured that he’s looking for somewhere that will allow him more ice time, so it’ll be interesting to see if he follows in the footsteps of Fife native Jordan Marr and moves down to a lower league for a shot at being starter.

Kevin Noble: Coventry Blaze > Coventry Blaze

The defenseman that everyone loves to hate has been inked to another year with the Blaze. I can hear the excitement across the league now…

Luke Ferarra: Coventry Blaze > Coventry Blaze

The GB International was welcomed back to the Skydome Arena after the campaign in Budapest and it was quickly announced that he would be coming back another year. The former Steeler has settled in well in Coventry and become quite the fan favourite.

Kevin Nastiuk: Coventry Blaze > Coventry Blaze

David Clements: Coventry Blaze > Coventry Blaze

Home town lad, David Clements has penned another deal to ice with the Blaze again this coming season. It comes as no surprise as this will be his 4th season with the senior team, having played much of his career in the junior ranks of Coventry.

Ross Venus: Coventry Blaze > Canterbury Red Devils > Coventry Blaze

While a lot of those who are being retained by the Blaze are enjoying their summer holidays, Ross Venus is currently playing in the NZIHL so that he can head into the new campaign as ready as possible to impress. He’s signed a 2 year deal, which will send him into his tenth year with the club.

Jordan Headly: Milton Keynes Lightning > Coventry Blaze

Alex Forbes: Milton Keynes Lightning > Coventry Blaze

British Forward Alex Forbes has quite the CV. He’s iced in 3 World Championships with Team GB, helping them to gain promotion.

Danick Paquette: Coventry Blaze > Coventry Blaze

Possibly the coolest way to announce a signing that I’ve seen in a while…
