Ice Hockey

Another Giant Newbie.

It’s a cloudy, but exciting day in the Land of the Giants today! This morning we were

given a new signing for the upcoming season and I would like to extend a warm Belfast welcome to our new player, the 6’4 D man, #23, Paul Swindlehurst. Let’s get to know him a little more, shall we?

A player of British origin, 25 year old Swindlehurst is coming to us from Manchester Storm for his first season as a Giant. He played for the Swindon Wildcats before coming to the EIHL in 2013, starting with the Dundee Stars, then on to the Nottingham Panthers, to Manchester Storm and now to Belfast. He has also played for Team GB from the U18s right though to senior level. His Ice Hockey career has been a pretty exciting one so far, not to mention back in 2014, when he earned a call- up to the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks rookie squad and then went on to spend the summer of 2016 with the Sydney Ice Dogs.

Swindleton has also won a fair few awards in his career so far, including the England U18 Champion in 2009, Young British Player of the Year in 2014 and two World Championship Gold Medals with Team GB.

So there we have it folks. We’re hoping for more signings in the coming weeks, so let’s keep at Coach Keefe for more!

Pretty Please?
