The Manchester Storm off-season has seen a lot of re-shuffling in the defensive department but very little fresh blood in the forwards department.
Welcome to Manchester Rob Linsmayer!
The 28-year old forward has spent the last season in France with Rapaces de Gap where he helped the reach the French cup final, contributing 19 points in 28 games (G5 A14) but prior to that he has excelled during his time in the ECHL with San Francisco Bulls and the Idaho Steelheads where he bagged himself 150 points in 211 games (G59 A91).
Linsmayer doesn’t just plan on helping the Storm to victory this season, he also has eyes on academic success as he is another Storm player that has enrolled into the University of Salford where he hopes to complete his MBA.
Speaking of the new signing, head coach Ryan Finnerty had this to say;
“Rob is a skilled forward and a consistent point scorer. I have confidence he will adapt quickly to our style of play; as it mirrors the ECHL where he had plenty of success. We are excited for him to be a part of the team and to continue our tradition of student athletes at the University of Salford, being successful on and off the ice”
Linsmayer himself is equally thrilled at the prospect of signing for the defending Patton conference champions;
“I am really excited to be playing in Manchester, I heard some really good things happened last season and the team was fun to watch. I can’t wait to get over and get the season started.”
I for one am always excited to see fresh players be added to the roster and can’t wait to see Linsmayer lace up his boots.
