The 2018-19 Season is fast approaching, and this evening the Belfast Giants released two new signings to add to the slowly growing roster. Let’s meet the newbies…
Firstly, we have #77, Josh Roach. The 25-year-old Canadian forward has spent the past five seasons playing for Saskatchewan and has also played for the Humboldt Broncos in his career so far, with his move to Belfast being his first time in a Professional League. At 6’1”, he not only plays forward, but can also play defense and has won many awards, such as SJHL Champion in 2011-12, SJHL Best Defenseman in 2012-13 and most recently CIS All- Canadian Second Team.
Welcome to Belfast #77!
Secondly we have #2, defenseman Kendall McFaull. Adding to the young blood of the team, 26-year-old McFaull also played five years for Saskatchewan and most notably was drafted in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft 155thoverall in sixth round to the now named Winnipeg Jets, known then as the Atlanta Thrashers. Another award winner, McFaull was awarded the Dr. Randy Gregg Award for the CIS ‘Outstanding Student Athlete’ this year. McFaull also spent two years as Assistant Captain to the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors and then one year as Captain before joining the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons.
Welcome to the Giants, #2!
With the team that has been announced so far, I am really looking forward to the coming season! A Giant Belfast welcome to our new recruits!
