Liam Kirk will be attending the Arizona Coyotes rookie training camp this month, also representing the Coyotes at a rookie tournament in Las Vegas.
Kirk, who was a seventh round pick of the Coyotes in this summers draft, will fly out to Las Vegas for a three-day tournament against the prospects of the Vegas Golden Knights, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche.
It’s the first edition of the Vegas Rookie Faceoff that will be just another chance for Liam Kirk to show off his talents ahead of his first season in the Ontario Hockey League for the Peterborough Petes.
The four day event takes place between September 8th and September 11th at the City National Arena, where the NHLs Vegas Golden Knights practice.
Kirk will join some of the Coyotes top prospects like fifth overall pick Barrett Hayton, Pierre-Olivier Joseph who was the 23rd pick in 2017, as well as some other big prospects like Tyler Steenbergen, while Kirk is expected to play a big part of the teams offence.
So far during his pre-season with the Peterborough Petes, Kirk has posted two assists in two games, really finding good chemistry with line mate Chris Paquette.
The rookie tournament later this week will see some of the best prospects in hockey face each other, with all three Arizona games set to be streamed on the Coyotes social media.
Arizona will face the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, Los Angeles Kings on Sunday and the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, with a practice day on Monday.
Once Kirk returns to Peterborough he’ll look to hit the ground running, as the Petes season gets underway on September 20th against the Kingston Frontenacs.
