Coventry Blaze have announced that centerman Kelin Ainsworth has left the club with immediate effect and joined the reigning Danish Champions, Aalborg Pirates.
Ainsworth joined the Blaze in this summer after a season in the Hungarian Erste Liga with Fehérvári Titánok, where he lead the league for points (53).
In his 22 league games with the Blaze, he picked up 18 points.
Head Coach Danny Stewart: “It’s unfortunate to lose ‘Ainsy’ at this time. We are already on the search for a replacement and hope to have somebody in place as soon as possible.”
Aalborg Head Coach Jason Morgan: “Kelin Ainsworth is an exciting player, who plays with a lot of passion. He has leadership qualities, and will add great offensive depth for us up front. Kelin is a big skater with a very good release. I had the opportunity to coach against Kelin last season in the Erste League, where he put up 53 points in 32 games. He was also a captain. We are excited to get Kelin into our lineup.”
