As the second half of the EIHL season begins, the Cardiff Devils have added an extra body to their lineup.
Cardiff currently sit top of the EIHL table with a game in hand over second place Belfast, and the league’s highest scoring offence with 28-year-old winger James Livingston.
The 6’1” forward started this year in the DEL 2 with EC Bad Nauheim, where he’s posted 18 points in 25 games in his second year with the side who he put up 50 points in 52 games last year with.
A third round pick by the St. Louis Blues in 2008, Livingston has spent time in the AHL, ECHL, EBEL and DEL 2 before joining the Devils.
Head Coach Andrew Lord was quoted in the teams press release, saying “Livingston is going to add depth to our forward unit at a time when we are going into a tough stretch of games. He is a solid two-way forward and the reports on him came in very positive about his attitude and his work ethic.
“With so many games coming up in this second half of the season, we felt it was the best thing for the team to have another top forward that can slot into the line-up on any line and at any forward position.
“His versatility and reputation as a solid two-way guy is what attracted us to him. I think he is going to be a great addition for us.”
Livingston is expected to be in the Devils lineup this weekend as they travel north to take on the Glasgow Clan on Saturday, before returning home on Sunday to take on the Nottingham Panthers.
