Following today’s DOPS verdict, the Manchester Storm have moved swiftly to bring in additional bodies…just one day before the deadline.
An experienced blueliner, with more than 200 EIHL apperances, Zajac is a smooth-skating Brit that is more than capable of playing EIHL minutes. A dominating 2018/9 season, in the NIHL, has seen the right-handed shot amass 36 points (13G 23A) in just 28 games. This is most definitely a smart-piece of business by Ryan Finnerty, just one day before the transfer deadline.
The son of Frank Morris, Liam played most of his junior career in North America before crossing the pond this summer to represent Basingstoke Bison. Frank, the former assistant coach for Braehead (now Glasgow) Clan, has likely been involved in this deal and Liam’s decent NIHL play (8G 10A) has enabled him to gain a short-term opportunity in the top British league.
These additional bodies will be vital for Manchester, in the play-off race, and replacing the only right-handed blueliner (Harrison Ruopp) was absolutely critical! Both will be given ample ice-time to prove themselves and Morris may even earn himself a full-time spot next season, as the Storm have sorely missed the additional Brit in the line-up.
