The Glasgow Clan have just announced they’ve parted ways with the Canadian forward.
With the announcement of the Philadelphia Flyers new mascot Gritty, something of a debate occurred on the CTP group chat; which EIHL team has the best mascot?
I am unqualified to make this decision. All mascots are valid, and bring joy and entertainment to thousands at each game. However, in the words of hit movie Highlander; “There can only be one!”. Who’s mascot will come out on top? What exactly is Lightening Jack?
And just how many people can I make angry in one post? Let’s go!
Rick Rypien. Wade Belak. Derek Boogaard. Steve Montador. Top line athletes, that all died at the height of their careers. Hockey is an intense sport, physically and mentally. With the current scale of the NHL, the need to perform consistently and flawlessly must be intense. Pressure can lead to stress, fatigue; isolation and travelling can lead to depression. It’s no wonder that the NHL has one of the worst cocaine problems in professional sport.

Not content with having a record breaking season (scoring 56 points in 44 games), and leading SHL points scoring in both regular season and playoffs, the Canucks prospect has just been named the Young Player of the Year at the 2018 European Hockey Awards in Prague, Czech Republic.
Chrissy Teigen recently tweeted out the following;
“I feel like can absolutely be a hockey goalie…I ran some numbers and if you lay on your side and lift your top leg up and down the entire game, you stop 99.9% of attempted goals. The rest is up to defense.”
