For the last four years, the Cardiff Devils have been one of the greatest teams in UK hockey, and while a lot of that can be down to the new ownership consortium that have helped turned the EIHL’s only Welsh teams fortunes around, one man in particular has played a huge part in that success.
No, I’m not talking about Andrew Lord who deserves his own dedicated post somewhere for his contributions on and off the ice, We’re talking about Joey Martin.
Chrissy Teigen recently tweeted out the following;
“I feel like can absolutely be a hockey goalie…I ran some numbers and if you lay on your side and lift your top leg up and down the entire game, you stop 99.9% of attempted goals. The rest is up to defense.”
It’s only fair to speculate that a player of the calibration Oliver Ekman-Larsson is would one day leave the Arizona Coyotes. They’re not exactly a cup contending team right now, so you’d think that maybe the player themselves would want to potentially move on and cash in in another city. But for OEL, it appears he’s going to be staying put with the Coyotes for the foreseeable future.
