Kings Preview and Notes – 23/10/18

Following a brutal weekend of losses to the Islanders and Sabres, the Kings are almost in a free fall of sorts with everything clicking but not hitting and a messy situation all over the ice and behind the bench (Previously covered in my last post). Though past all of that, it’s time for a round up of the Kings going into tonight’s game against Dallas.

The Kings come into Dallas with a 2-5-1 record, on the other hand Dallas come in 3-4-0 on the day. Both teams have come off the bad ends of recent games with Dallas dropping straight games themselves against the Senators, Devils and Wild, the Kings dropping bad decisions to the Sabres and Islanders.

Team Notes:

Jarret Anderson Dolan has been sent back to Spokane in the WHL for further seasoning and not to use a year on his ELC within the ten game limit, defenseman Sean Walker has been called up from the AHL’s Reign as team leader in points and goals. Dustin Brown is travelling with the team but can’t be activated off LTIR until later on in the month.

Dallas have called up Justin Dowling from the AHL themselves, the 28 year old could look to make his NHL debut tonight against the Kings. Alexander Radulov is noted as day to day and may be questionable for the Stars tonight. Valeri Nichushkin is skating but not active.

Statistically Speaking:

Los Angeles Leaders
Goals: Iafallo, Kopitar, Toffoli, Kovalchuk, Carter (2)
Assists: Iafallo (5)
Points: Iafallo, (7)
Sv%: Campbell (91.7%)
GAA: Campbell (2.80)
Powerplay: 10.7% (29th in NHL)
Penalty Kill: 71.4% (T-26nd with BUF)

Dallas Leaders

Goals: Radulov, Benn, Klingberg (4)
Assists: Seguin (7)
Points: Radulov, Seguin (10)
Sv%: Bishop (92%)
GAA: Bishop (2.46)
Powerplay: 33% (3rd in NHL)
Penalty Kill: 80% (14th in NHL)

Projected Goalies:
LAK: Quick
DAL: Bishop

Players to watch:
LAK: Iafallo continues to hound the puck on the top line, top line last few games have been Iafallo, Kopitar and Toffoli.

DAL: Leadership group of Benn, Seguin and Radulov is working as usual, expect the line to be the threat.

2018 NHL Mock Draft – Round One

The best thing about doing mock drafts is how confident you are when you write them, and then how wrong you end up being.

That’s exactly why the mock draft you are reading right now has been deleted and started again several times.

I’ve always struggled outside the top three when it comes to my mock drafts, the only year I didn’t nail the top three was in 2016 when the Columbus Blue Jackets selected Pierre Luc Dubois with the third pick despite most predicting they’d take Jesse Puljujarvi.

After that, my track record isn’t great. So have a look at who I’ve projected to go where but after the first round is completed on June 22nd, please don’t point out my mistakes, I’ll be aware of them already.
