It’s certainly been a crazy time for us Steelers supporters. Another new signing, the Challenge Cup draw, a home goal fest and the extension of an unwanted record. The Challenge Cup matchups for the first knockout rounds have been determined after the live draw took place following the conclusion of the Group Stage.
Eight of the 11 EIHL teams remain in the competition, with the top three seeded teams able to pick who they’ll face next, with the fourth seed having to pick up the team left by the top three sides.
Coming into the knockout rounds, the Belfast Giants occupy the top spot so held the first pick in the draw.

Following a mixed bag of results in September, the Flames would have been hoping for better in October. The month consisted of 9 games for the Flames, 8 of which counted towards the league and just 1 towards the Challenge Cup group. The outcome? Things are on the up!
