Continental Cup Super Final – Day 3 Recap

It was the third and final day yesterday of the 2019 IIHF Continental Cup. After winning their opening two games apiece, Kazakhstan’s Arlan Kokshetau and the Elite League’s Belfast Giants locked horns to see who would be the latest winners of this tournament. Prior to the Final, GKS Katowice and HK Gomel faced off earlier in a dead rubber game which would determine who would finish in third place. Here’s how it all unfolded.

Continental Cup Super Final – Day 2 Recap

The second day of the 2019 Continental Cup Final is now complete, and we now know that it will be a last day shootout to see which team succeeds Yunost Minsk as the latest winners. Two teams are left standing from the final four, and 5:00pm on Sunday night will be a battle for gold and a title. Here’s a recap of the action in Belfast on Saturday.

Continental Cup Super Final – Day 1 Recap

Well the first day of the 2019 Continental Cup in Belfast is complete. There will be a first time winner once the final buzzer goes on Sunday, but who is going to be the one who will be celebrating? The IIHF have already confirmed that should the winner come from either hosts Belfast Giants, GKS Katowice or HK Gomel then they would qualify for next season’s CHL providing the CHL organising committee ratify it. Continental Cup Super Final Preview

It’s another huge weekend for Adam Keefe and his Belfast Giants as they chase their first trophy of the season. The Giants are in the Super Final of the IIHF Continental Cup, bidding to become the second Elite League winners of the prize after Corey Neilson led the Nottingham Panthers to success in 2016-17. Most people view the Giants as the outsiders of the four finalists, but anything is possible. Belfast Beat: The Quadruple Quest

There’s a bit of a buzz around Belfast at the moment, you can feel in the waters of the Lagan which flows nearby. Adam Keefe has assembled a roster which is challenging for four trophies, the elusive quadruple which no Elite League has ever achieved. It’s a tough ask for it to happen but there is some quiet confidence emanating from the Northern Irish capital that the Giants class of 2019 could actually make it happen.
