A bit of luck helps Finland past Canada

Sometimes you need a bit of luck to win a hockey game, and Finland found that out in their quarterfinal matchup with Canada in the World Junior Championships.

With the group stage over, its knockout time. Denmark and Kazakhstan are fighting each other to stay in the top group for next year (Kazakhstan currently have a 1 – 0 lead in the relegation rounds after a 4 – 3 win in game one which saw Denmark finally score a goal), and for the rest of the competition a loss see’s them out of the tournament.

WORLD JUNIORS DAY 2 RECAP: Switzerland keep it close

Day two of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championships got underway with an early face-off between Russia and Denmark, with four games on the schedule again that ended with Finland taking on Kazakhstan who returned to the top division for the first time since 2009.

Draft eligible prospects to watch at this years World Juniors

With the World Juniors starting tomorrow, a lot of eyes around the hockey world will be glued to the tournament that see’s 10 nations send some of the best prospects in the world to Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia, as Canada play hosts of the tournament, eying up their 18th title at the World Junior Championships.

There will be some big name players who have already been through the draft process before, but some teams will be sending some key names to keep an eye on ahead of the 2019 NHL Draft, so we’re going to do our best to highlight some of the key names to watch.
