Erik Karlsson to Tampa a done deal?

Erik Karlsson could soon be a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning, at least that’s according to Shawn Simpson of TSN.

Late Thursday Simpson announced the deal is done pending a trade call to the league.

Darren Dreger, also of TSN also suggested what some of the details of the trade may be, just not whether it appeared to be a done deal or not.

Senators allowing teams to open contract talks with Karlsson

Another day has passed and Erik Karlsson is still a member of the Ottawa Senators, and its no clearer if he’s on his way out soon.

Senators GM Pierre Dorian revealed on Sunday that the team have stuck to a promise they made fans and offered their team captain a contract extension, with the star defenseman out of contract next summer.

“Obviously we don’t really want to talk about roster players, contract negotiations, trades, all these things” Dorion told reporters on Sunday.

Jeff Skinner reportedly turned down a few trades this off-season

Trades around the NHL Draft were unexpectedly quiet this year and now we might know one reason.

With a year left on his current deal, it looks like the Carolina Hurricanes has deals on the table that would send Jeff Skinner out of Carolina, only for Skinner to turn them down, however it’s unclear which teams had potential deals in place to bring the 26-year-old to their organisation.
